For the last 5 years we’ve had to endure some of the worst economic conditions and austere cuts for decades.
The whole country has been at the mercy of greedy bankers and unscrupulous politicians heaping tough times on lots of ordinary, hard working people whilst not personally feeling any of the hardship that they are responsible for.
For the last two weeks, this country’s most dedicated and committed sports people have lifted us out of the doldrums and given us every reason to feel proud.
Without any desire for wealth or fame, they’ve toiled away, day and night, mostly with no audience, making huge sacrifices in their family and personal life.
Many athletes listen to music for inspiration and motivation before they compete.
This message below was posted on Massive Attack’s Facebook page to jessica Ennis and shows just why if you want to give a new generation a purpose, a reason to feel part of something and a sense of belonging, it’s going to come from those who give a shit about others and don’t rely on those who only think of their own wealth.
